Today this intersection is a choke point. Currently this intersection carries XX cars per day going to and from West Ashley and Johns Island, as well as the businesses located around this intersection. Glatting Jackson’s solution is to expand the street network to provide better support to this intersection. By expanding the street network, local trips traveling to homes and businesses nearby the intersection will not be forced through the intersection. Therefore, vehicles traveling through this area will experience less congestion because the local trips will have other options than just the Main Road and Savannah Highway intersection.
